LF AI & Data Blog Guidelines

LF AI & Data Blog Guidelines

The LF AI & Data blogs serve as channels for LF AI & Data members, project maintainers of graduated, incubating, and sandbox projects, committees, and working groups to share content with the broader LF AI & Data community and ecosystem.

Submission Process:

Submit your blog proposal through LF AI & Data Blog Submission Form to be considered for publication on the LF AI & Data Official or Community Blog. Once submitted, the LF AI & Data Marketing team will review your proposal and follow up as soon as possible. Please note that response times may be delayed due to the volume of submissions we receive.

We look forward to your blog submission. For questions, please email marketing@lfaidata.foundation

Blogging Criteria

Members are welcome and encouraged to draft and submit blog posts, provided the following considerations are met:

The LF AI blog audience consists of developers and, more broadly, AI, ML, and DL open source enthusiasts. Blogs should be intended to teach and impart value to the broader LF AI community.

  • Posts must be vendor-neutral. The post may mention a vendor’s name as it relates to specific open source project(s), project deployments, adoption paths, the hosting of an in-person event or speaking at an event, or other indications of meaningful participation in the community, but it shouldn’t feel like an advertisement for the member services or company. We do not accept member or company services announcements or press releases to the LF AI blog.

  • Blogs should be no longer than 1,000 words and no shorter than 300 words. Diagrams, code examples, or photos are strongly encouraged.

    • Any blog content greatly exceeding this word count should be broken up into a series of related posts or considered for a more formal white paper or solution brief

  • Blog submissions must be from LF AI & Data member organizations to receive attribution.

    • While LF AI & Data is an open source organization, blogging for the Foundation is part of the robust benefit package that comes with official membership in the Foundation

    • Community blog posts from non-member companies may be considered on a case-by-case basis, but priority will be given to member-contributed content. Non-member submissions may also be redirected for potential social promotion instead of blog publication

  • Given the over-saturation of AI-related content online, LF AI & Data will not publish content on general industry research unless there is a direct connection to the Foundation and its projects, or if commissioned by the Foundation

    • For example, an analyst report highlighting the use of OPEA in a deployment would be appropriate. However, a generic academic discussion on Agentic AI without any tie to LF AI & Data work would not qualify."

  • Blog posts MUST contain clear and direct discussion of LF AI & Data projects, solutions, or Committee / Working Group output with crisp and concise discussion of the benefits of Foundation projects.

  • Your post must be your content, but can be published elsewhere with a right to republish. All content should have an author and be published [Creative Commons with Attribution](https://creativecommons.org/share-your-work/ ), so you’re welcome to re-publish on your own blog.

Member-generated content that does not meet this criteria (but remains vendor-neutral and within neutral industry discussion), or does not link directly to LF AI & Data output, may be considered for LF AI & Data social media promotion (but not publication on Foundation blog) as part of the overall member benefits package.

Blogging Best Practices

  • The most interesting posts are how-to blogs, blogs with technical content, and those that teach or show how to do something in a way others may not have thought of.

  • Blog posts that show hurdles that were encountered and explain how they were overcome via LF AI & Data project solutions often do very well as the community is looking to learn.

    • If you have a good example of this, please consider reverting to a more formal use case.

  • Content on how to choose between different technologies and how to accommodate different legacy issues and platforms-- and how LF AI & Data projects enable that -- is a good way to highlight your learnings and share with the community.

  • All blogs must adhere to the Linux Foundation Code of Conduct
